Digital Asset Checklist for Apartments

When you're acquiring or taking over an existing property, here are the digital marketing assets you'll need to get started on the right foot.
You have a lot to think about when acquiring a property.

Remembering which digital assets you need doesn’t have to be one of them. Just reference this handy dandy checklist.

  • Logo (format should be .psd, .ai, or .png)
  • Brand standards (fonts, colors)
  • High-res photos
  • Video files
  • E-brochures (if available)

  • Domain name: Ask previous owner to transfer domain name to your registrar account (GoDaddy, Network Solutions, etc.)
  • FTP access to any existing website files (Hostname, username, password)
  • Admin login for existing website (Link to login page, username, password)
  • Google Analytics: Ask previous owner to add [insert new manager’s email address] as a user
  • Google Webmaster Tools: Ask previous owner to add [insert new manager’s email address] as a user
  • Bing Webmaster Tools: Ask previous owner to add [insert new manager’s email address] as a user

  • List of existing publicly-available company email addresses (Ex. “contact@propertyname.com, info@propertyname.com)
  • Email databases: Current residents, prospects, any other marketing databases (including opt-in information)
  • Access to email service provider (MailChimp, ExactTarget, Constant Contact, etc.; If applicable)

  • Google+ Local: Ask previous owner to remove listing from their account (places.google.com)
  • Yahoo! Local: Ask previous owner to remove listing from their account (smallbusiness.yahoo.com/dashboard/mybusinesses)
  • Bing Local: Ask previous owner to remove listing from their account (bingplaces.com)
  • ApartmentRatings: Ask previous owner to email info@apartmentratings.com saying “We have sold this property to [insert new manager’s email]. Please transfer ownership of this listing to [insert new manager’s email].”
